MY STORY

As a USPTA Elite certified professional with 25 years of coaching experience, I'm able to offer a unique tennis-yoga fusion that's well received by both competitive and recreational players alike. I teach mainly at Play Tennis. Practice Yoga., located in Punta Gorda, Florida, where I am both the tennis director and head professional.
Offerings include league team clinics for women, men and mixed, start-up beginner/novice programs, and one-on-one personalized development lessons including practice/sparring sessions for more advanced players.
My playing career included experience in top tier international junior tournaments (Orange Bowl, Easter Bowl) while training at the renowned Nick Bolletieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida (now IMG Academy), and success as a college player at Miami University (Ohio), including MAC conference Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman, where I earned a B.S. in Mass Communications.
In January of 2018 & 2020, I had the opportunity to host the Miami University Women's tennis team for their winter training camp, that included not only tennis with their coaches, but yoga sessions led by myself, in between practices, concluding with a group yoga practice at the end of the week, to enhance their mental toughness in preparation for tournament play.
Also an E-RYT & YACEP (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher & Continuing Education Provider) through the national Yoga Alliance) teaching for the past 15 years-the genesis of which was my own back issues at one time-I specialize in gentle, chair and beginner level classes as well as presenting popular periodic specialty workshops including Yoga for Tennis, Yoga for Back Care, Yoga for Healthy Aging, among others at the prestigious The Yoga Sanctuary when not at PTPY. I am also part of the faculty for The Yoga Sanctuary's Teacher Training Program, having presented on Gentle & Accessible Yoga and also serving as a mentor in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021.
My continuing education includes traveling to study with yoga teachers such as Dr. Baxter Bell, and I completed my initial training under Lynn Burgess at Yoga From the Heart in Sarasota, Florida, and my most recent yoga studies include a Yoga for Healthy Aging Certification, led by Dr. Baxter Bell and Melina Meza, completed in January of 2017. My most recent tennis education includes qualifying to teach inTENNSity fitness, through completing High Intensity Tennis Training Fundamentals with Michele Krause in January of 2021. Additionally in December of 2021, I completed and assisted with a Cardio Tennis training in Lake Nona, FL while serving as part of the Cardio Tennis Trainer Team, educating other tennis professionals in their goals of leading better programming through Cardio Tennis.
